8th March International Women’s Day

International Women's Day

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global event that celebrates the achievements of women and is a call for action for gender equality and women’s rights. We now celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) annually on the 8th March but the World has been observing it since the early 1900’s.

International Women’s Day is not affiliated with any particular charity or organisation but works to bring together businesses, government, and different charities, through networking, talks, marches, and demonstrations.

International Woman’s Day is a day to recognise the amazing efforts of women all over the World. To acknowledge how women overcome their struggles and to value how women positively contribute to their families, their communities, and business.

Support International Woman’s Day

2018 marks 100 years since women got the right to vote in the United Kingdom, and yet there is still much more progress to make. So far this year discrimination and sexual harassment towards women has dominated the headlines, prompting a massive surge of people campaigning for immediate change, with influential women and celebrities lending their voices to support this crucial campaign.

It is the responsibility of all of us to ensure a safe, bright and positive future for girls all over the world. These girls should have the right to make choices, to be safe, to have an education and to be treated fairly at work regardless of gender. We need to enable every one of them to aspire and to succeed in achieving their goals.

Gender equality needs the support of every one of us. So, let’s make a difference and lend your voice to support International Woman’s Day.

Happy International Woman’s Day x
