This season is all about going back to brunette when it comes to your locks. That’s right our very own Claire, editor of One Chic Mom has ditched the caramel highlights and indulged in a lusciously rich semi-permanent colouring. Having taken inspiration from all those lovely A-listers this awards season, we chose to intensify the natural colour of Claire’s natural colour.
I can only describe the tone we have gone for as liquorice sheen over a chilli chocolate base. Believe me; the results are stunning. The great thing about Semi-permanent colouring is that it’s not as invasive as permanent. This ultimately is a huge factor when it comes to hair condition. As you can see in the photograph the shine on Claire’s hair is unreal! In the salon, I use Milkshake Smoothies when colouring semi-permanently as they contain many beneficial, nutritious ingredients.
Semi-Permanent Colouring The Facts
All you have to remember when talking to your stylist about semi-permanent hair colouring is the three cardinal facts.
You can only ever refresh your natural colour or go darker. Semi-permanent colour will not lighten hair.
The colour will only fade out naturally over the time between salon appointments as opposed to growing out with the dreaded ‘roots.’
You can use semi-permanent colour as a toner to liven up dull blondes or lifeless naturally coloured hair.
