Read the Job Posting Properly
Ok so you are excited to be reading an advert for your dream job, but make sure that you take the time to read the job posting properly before you start sending in your CV. What time frame are you expected to apply within, is there an application form, or are you requested to send in your CV with covering letter. Attention to detail is crucial.
Make Sure Your Application Is Spotless & Relevant
Make sure your CV/application letters are as perfect as they can be. It shows that you care about the job for which you are applying. Tailor your letter/CV to suit the job for which you are applying. Start each letter fresh too and make sure you check and double check for spelling and grammatical errors.

Ok so you know why this is your dream job, but don’t forget to tell include why you would like to work for this company and why you are going to be the best person for the job. If you don’t know then maybe this is no job for you after all. Then only list the accomplishments that you think are relevant to the actual position for which you are applying.
Give yourself a little time and then go back and recheck your application.
Clean Up Your Social Media Accounts
In the days where we are all about social media, you should remove anything that could be perceived as inappropriate by a future employer. And yes we do check. At least lock down your profile to make it private. Make sure you’ve updated your LinkedIn profile to include any responsibilities or accomplishments in previous job roles.
