We’re all at the point where the Christmas break has left us feeling bloated and lethargic. As much as I love the festive season, New Year celebrations are done and dusted, Christmas decorations are away and it’s time for that inevitable fresh start. The thing is we all know what we should be doing and I hate the word Diet. I like to think of the New Year as kick-starting a healthier lifestyle. My advice is (if you haven’t already) invest in a fitness watch. Honestly, they are amazing! I personally use the AppleWatch which is incredible, not just for fitness, but like your own personal assistant.
It’s a great motivator for living a healthier life. It counts your daily footsteps, measures your heart rate and tells you when to get off your backside! If you go for an AppleWatch series 2 onwards you can even use your watch to measure swimming lengths. It has a clever water lock which makes your watch water resistant for up to 50 metres depth.
Think of your Smart fitness watch as an extension of your mobile phone too. Check messages, missed calls and social media notifications. Here are our top three… (guesses for our favourite?!)
Apple Watch (series 3 or 4). A no brainer for us at OneChicMom, we love our IPhones in the office so they pair up perfectly. We also love the style of the watch and the fact that the straps are inter-changeable is a massive bonus. Whether sweating it out at the gym or a meal out in the evening you will find a strap to suit both! It’s the perfect all-rounder for someone that wants more than just a fitness watch.
FitBit – Charge 3
The FitBit is a real good one for those that love to keep fit. It was designed for the more active person therefore its much sleeker and sportier looking in style. If its simple you want with a lower price tag, this is the watch for you. It does what it says on the tin, and pairs with your phone for all the basic stuff like notifications. All in all a great watch… especially for the price!
Garmin Vivoactive Fitness Watch
These are amazing watches! The functions are insane and offer nearly as much as what the AppleWatch does. Garmin watches are particularly ideal for those who love to run (the clue is in the name!) It connects to your smartphone also so you can receive all the usual notifications via your watch. The only thing I am not 100% certain on is the design… a tad masculine in my opinion.
