If you’re already following the Hygge way of life then you are sure to have a candle burning in your home. I do love candles and tend to buy them frequently but it’s mostly the Autumn and Winter months that I tend to light them.
I tend to choose ones which are lightly fragranced so as not to be overpowering. However, in the darker winter months, I do lean towards the winter spices or gingerbread ones for their dark and moody scents.
Whilst I appreciate some brands are a little pricey they do seem to burn slower so last much longer. My all-time favourite would be The White Company “ winter” candle. It has a lovely smell that exudes a wintery scent. I particularly like The White Company branding as the glass designs are very simple but elegant.
Candles for gifts
Receiving or giving a candle as a gift is also a fabulous idea. They tend to be nicely gift boxed and some stores will even gift wrap, what could be more simple. If you have that person in your life which you always to struggle to buy for then maybe this could be the answer.
If you prefer your candle to be more decorative then you should take a look at Jo Malone charity candles. They have a lovely floral design to them and are pretty and eye-catching. They also donate to the chosen charity which is fantastic.
If you are looking for a candle that’s not scented then have a look at drippy candles. As they burn they create the most stunning dripped effect. They come in a range of colours but the white is particularly classy when tapered into the top of an old bottle. They still give a lovely candlelight glow and the dripped effect is particularly mesmerising.
If you are undecided on which fragrance to choose you could purchase the Yankee Candle Advent calendar. It offers 24 different miniatures to try so perfect to test out a selection of fragrances and maybe find the one you prefer.
There are many choices available online and so why not live the Hygge way this Winter and create a lovely candlelight glow in your home. The hardest decision will be which one to choose to help you make that decision OneChicMom has selected a few choices to tempt you.
